The Consultant: Artist's Manifesto

I decided to start this project because I write too many whimsical stories. A lot of my serious games end up about control and what you can do vs what you can't. I went in a similar direction with this one but put a spin on it. When I wanted to talk about something relating to real world problems, I decided I wanted to talk about political issues within the United States. However, politics is complicated, and I wanted to convey this information through different means. Therefore, having the player working with two forces that see the world differently, but having non of them be perfect is a good way to display this message. This is much like the political landscape today in the United States. If you only follow the words of others and don't go out of the way to act for yourself, someone not aligning with your views will most likely come out on top. Sometimes, you are forced to support one side because there's no other option. There are very few good options and the only good options are the ones you need to go out of your way to work for. That is the feeling I wanted to try and create with this game. I hope playing the game gives you a similar feeling.

However, it's not all doom and gloom. If people work hard and go out of their way to make things better, things can and will change for the better. I hope people start thinking about their future and not just the present. I hope we can carve ad way forward and create a brighter future for the world. As the last words of The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel IV says, "May fortune favor humanity."
